General Rules & Procedures
At Friars Point Elementary School, the District’s uniform policy is enforced. Students are to wear gold or purple uniform shirts (with collars) and khaki pants. Students should wear shirts tucked in with a solid black, brown or white belt. Students should also wear black, brown or white shoes.
Arrival and Dismissal
Students attending Friars Point Elementary School are to arrive at school each day no later than 7:50 a.m. The school is opened at 7:15 a.m. to provide breakfast for students. Classes begin at 7:50. School is dismissed at 3:00 p.m. All students are dismissed through the front entrance of the building. Please refrain from picking up students between 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. so that our dismissal procedures will run smoothly.

3:00 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
It is extremely important that students arrive to school on time to avoid disrupting instructional time. Students are considered tardy if they arrive after 7:50 a.m. and will need to be signed in by a parent. Students will also need an excuse from the office to be admitted into class.
Friars Point Elementary invites all our parents to be involved in the education of their child/children. In order to encourage parents we have an “Open Door Policy”. Parents are allowed to come to the school to observe their child’s class whenever they feel the need to do so. When coming to observe parents must first stop by the office to obtain a visitor’s pass and allow someone to escort them to the classroom. When observing, you are asked to sit in an area away from the students to avoid disruptions.
- We are asking that students only be checked out of school at the end of class periods to avoid disrupting instructional time.
- Students receive home-school communicators every Wednesday with important information and graded work in them. You are to sign these folders and send them back to school with your child on Thursday mornings.
